Concert at The Blair School of Music

A few weeks ago, we had the immense pleasure of hearing a free musical concert at the Blair School of Music. Trekking out to Nashville with some other musician friends and listening to a concert dedicated to the composer Schubert was a highlight in the month of February for us!

The first half of the program consisted of voice and piano compositions sung in German. One of my particular favorites out of the collection of German Lieder music that was sung was; Erlkonig (The Erlking)
Following the phenomenal vocalist was a string quintet piece; Schubert's String Quintet in C Major. My two ultimate favorite String ensemble pieces are now the above and Beethoven's Quartet in C # minor. Listening to them makes me wish I played a stringed instrument! Many people don't realize that Harp is technically a percussion instrument)

Enjoy the links to the pieces!

A couple months ago we actually got to play in one of their orchestra practices... And yes, they are REALLY good!

That is really neat Jon, what a coincidence!

Who is the family that takes at Blair? We might like to hook up with them sometime.

Say "hello" to your sisters for us-
