Harp Recital

Saint Peter's Episcopal Church is where the recital took place.

It was such a neat old church with many beautiful things such as the door handle above.

On the Road to Shelbyville

Last weekend Esther and I trekked out to Shelbyville TN to play for a wedding, it was such a pretty country drive with no traffic, and lots of fencing and cows.

We were unable to wear these purple corsages because they were meant to go on your wrist, but we took them home anyway!

House concert in San Antonio Texas

While in San Antonio performing at a wedding,  I was able to squeeze in a small house concert in Alamo Heights. I performed various pieces from the Baroque to the Romantic time periods; including the Handel B flat Concerto, Vers la source dans le bois by Tournier, The Lord's Prayer by Malotte and a few other great compositions.

A wedding in the sunny state of Texas

Esther and I had the great delight and privilege of performing with the talented San Antonio violist, Mrs. Du'Anne  Hamby.  We performed various pieces together, but the one that stood out as our ultimate favorite was a trio arrangement of The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Handel that we transcribed to be played on harp, violin and viola.

A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of performing at a wedding that took place in Christ's Church Cathedral (located in Nashville). The building possesses gorgeous acoustics, amazing woodwork, and a pipe organ, what could be better?

Concert at The Blair School of Music

A few weeks ago, we had the immense pleasure of hearing a free musical concert at the Blair School of Music. Trekking out to Nashville with some other musician friends and listening to a concert dedicated to the composer Schubert was a highlight in the month of February for us!

The first half of the program consisted of voice and piano compositions sung in German. One of my particular favorites out of the collection of German Lieder music that was sung was; Erlkonig (The Erlking)
Following the phenomenal vocalist was a string quintet piece; Schubert's String Quintet in C Major. My two ultimate favorite String ensemble pieces are now the above and Beethoven's Quartet in C # minor. Listening to them makes me wish I played a stringed instrument! Many people don't realize that Harp is technically a percussion instrument)

Enjoy the links to the pieces!

We adore our brother, truly. He is the best handyman, has a tremendous amount of patience, much ingenuity, and always makes us laugh!

This January has been so warm! Look at the green grass we still have. We are not minding it one bit.
